Looking for more energy? More stamina? More endurance? Then why not try adding a little maca to your morning.
Never heard of it? Not to worry, this amazing adaptogen is not native to the U.S. but instead is derived from a Peruvian plant (kind of like a potato). Maca is a good source of calcium, iron, magnesium vitamins C and E, amino acids, phytonutrients and healthy fatty acids. Basically, maca contains all kinds of goodness. As far as the taste, maca has a rich malty flavor that pairs especially well with cacao, another favorite superfood of mine.

Fun Fact – There are actually three types of maca powders: red, black and yellow. Each powder ranges in sweetness, red maca being the sweetest and most mild tasting, followed by black maca, and finally, yellow maca being the least sweet.
Using maca has helped me to increase my energy level and as I mentioned, it is also known for increasing stamina and endurance. Athletes commonly take maca for peak performance but you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy its benefits. If you find yourself feeling tired or sluggish, just a small amount of maca could be exactly what you need for a boost!
